Hey guys I just got hacked for my insta and Twitter even tho I have 2fa on. I managed to get both back as I noticed within 10 minutes but how the hell would they of managed that?

Even when I logged in it sent a text to my phone before allowing me in with a code and I also use google Authenticator app

Seems extremely strange to me they didn’t change my passwords or anything they just posted one of them fake Elon musk shill posts things. Send X amount to this wallet and get double back type scam.

I’m actually baffled

Bro If you’re using SMS-based 2FA, they could exploit vulnerabilities in your phone carrier’s network or use social engineering to obtain your SIM card or intercept SMS messages. For Google Authenticator, they might attempt advanced engineering tactiksss to trick you into granting access to a malicious app that mimics the authenticator apps

And If the they successfully exploits a 2FA, they could gain temporary access to your Instagram or Twitter account. And their goal might not be to change your password but rather to post the scam message and quickly disappear before you notice.

So meybe to attack eyes on that, because thats how i will so ofc hipoteticaly

This is exactly what happened they didn’t even change the passwords and one account has 80k followers so they didn’t seem bothered about the account.

I think they just wanted to scam my followers.

It could’ve easily been a session hijack.
