This is the only real way, many 3rd party sites will show old/false data. This way you check directly on chain.

  1. Go to: https://etherscan.io
  2. Search for the official USDC address you want to check, example:
    0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19d4a2e9eb0ce3606eb48
  3. Select your token
  4. Click Contract
  5. Click “Read as Proxy” if you don’t see anything under Contract.
  6. Find: isBlacklisted(address)
  7. Enter your wallet address and click Query

  • false = safe
  • true = blacklisted (cannot send USDC)

We have restored it (USDT). As far as for our frozen 84 000 USDC, Circle will not help.

But I can applaud them for responding so fast. If anyone here can lookup this case and get the details (26-cv-2327, Court for the Southern District of New York), we would appreciate it. We’ve tried but found nothing online, so either the case is new or sealed from the public.

To add insult to injury, the law firm behind this freeze aren’t nice people, from what it seems:

Based on reports from January 2026, the law firm Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP was hit with a $735 million fraud lawsuit in New York state court regarding its role in a 2023 take-private deal.

The absurdity of the system is real. And I will say it again, if you store lots of stablecoins, start thinking of slowly unloading into something else.

Circle (USDC issuer) has recently blacklisted several addresses that were in some way linked to an address involved in a U.S. civil case so I am assuming this is also related to that. ZachXBT has also posted about it here and here.

@ZachXTB helped us out by giving us direct contact to the lawyer responsible for all this, but no response from him or his law firm yet.
