My Story As An Ex-Paxful Employee

Hello, I’m Lewis Mutugi Nkonge, born and raised in Kenya by my parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nkonge. Both of them are graduates, but as we all know, life isn’t always a straight line.

For most of my childhood, my dad was the breadwinner, doing his best to provide for our family. But over time, things shifted. My mom began earning more, and today, they are no longer together.

Anyway, I’m getting ahead of myself.

Growing up, I can’t say I truly struggled. My parents made sure I attended some of the best schools. But eventually, I made a tough decision I quit school and chose to focus fully on online work.

One turning point came when I went viral selling Bitcoin in the streets using a placard. Yes,literally standing on the roadside, marketing crypto the old-school way. That bold move caught attention far beyond what I expected.

Soon after, I was offered a role as Social Media Manager at Paxful, directly by Ray Youssef, the CEO himself. That opportunity meant a lot. It was a validation of hustle, creativity, and resilience. I even received recommendations on LinkedIn for the work I did there something I still look back on with pride.

Looking back, I wasted a lot of the money I earned during that time. If only I had known about SWAPD then, I truly believe I’d be much further ahead in life. But we live, and we learn.

You know what most people haven’t realized yet? Dropservicing. But that’s a story for another day.

I don’t know how people will take this, but what I do know is that I’m making it in life not by luck, but by strategy. I’ve built up digital assets, I’ve learned the game, and I have SWAPD. That’s a big part of what’s keeping me going.

Anyway, I’ll stop here. I’m typing this on mobile hotspot, and my 1.2GB data bundle is about to run out. Imagine that just 1 hour of connection. Ukoloni Mamboleo.

Thanks for passing by.

That was a powerful read. Really appreciate how real and open you were, especially that part about selling Bitcoin on the roadside. That kind of hustle isn’t easy to talk about, let alone pull off.

Went through a similar journey figuring things out online. It’s wild how many of us say the same thing and a feeling that if only we had found SWAPD earlier. But glad you made it here now.

Wishing you more wins ahead. And respect for making that 1.2GB stretch.
