I doubt they would do anything like that. They would have done that already if that was their plan. Elon rushed everything, but Mark knows what he’s doing.

It’s still unavailable on Instagram in USA, but did get verified on Facebook! Took about 18 mins. Talked with Support and said Instagram will be live within the next 48 hours

Seeing 2-3 profiles which were earlier verified by meta verified and now they are not verified anymore
Hey got it in the US on a fake account of mine
Can I submit my id that’s not the person on the account - is instagram just verifying that someone has a valid ID or are they looking that the ID matches the photos on the account too
Also could I just change the name on the account and change it back after submission? Or would that remove the subscription?
