There might be some minor disruptions during the upgrade. Nothing dramatic, but don’t panic if things act weird for a bit. Once it’s done and stable, here’s what you’re getting.
This isn’t a massive update, but it includes some long requested features that actually matter.
1. CHAT SEARCH
Yes, finally.
You’ll be able to search through all your chats. A proper chat search engine is being added, so no more digging through endless DMs trying to find that one message from two months ago.
Find anything. Instantly.
2. FEEDBACK RESPONSES
Someone leaves you bad feedback and you can’t get it removed? Cool, now you can respond to it.
Buyers and sellers will both have the option to reply directly under feedback. Say your piece, add context, defend yourself, whatever needs to be said. We are also slightly increasing the char limit for both, feedback and responses.
No more one sided stories.
3. TRANSLATIONS
We originally planned around 10 languages.
Then reality kicked in.
SWAPD is pushing ~200K posts/topics per month, and translating all of that would cost more than it’s worth. So we’re rolling this out in a limited way, with only a few languages for now. These are FULL page translations, with their own pages. This will (should) boost our traffic once the new pages get indexed.
More practical, less waste.
4. SIDEBAR CHANGES
We’re reshuffling things.
-
Sidebar ads go to the very top now. Always.
Because of that, pricing goes from 249 USD → 349 USD per slot.
Why? They’re now the first thing people see on every page (on every page, they’re more seen than Homepage Ads), and demand has already been proving they were underpriced anyway. -
Chat moves up
It’s now second in the sidebar.
Having DMs buried at the bottom made zero sense. SWAPD runs on connections, so now it will be one click away. -
Everything else moves down
Categories, navigation, etc. still there, just lower priority.
5. AUTO FORMATTING
New posts and topics will go through extra checks. The new system will organize uploaded images so they are displayed in a more compact way.
The Rest
Core improvements, backend work, bug fixes. The usual invisible stuff that keeps everything from breaking.
That’s it.
Rollout starts in about 19 hours.
