SWAPD Victim Fund

About the SWAPD Victim Fund

Occasionally, even on the most secure platforms like SWAPD, unfortunate events can affect buyers and sellers. While we strive to minimize fraudulent transactions, the nature of our business makes it impossible to guarantee complete security for our members. In the world of social media, transferred properties can be reclaimed post-transaction, leaving victims with few defenses. To address these deceptive practices, we’ve established a victim fund to alleviate the financial burden on members who experience monetary losses.

How Is the Victim Fund Funded?

  1. Premium Memberships: The primary source of funds comes from the sales of our Premium Memberships. 100% of the proceeds (after taxes) are added to our collective fund pool. You can track the current balance in the header of our Victim Fund category. We also maintain a dedicated topic that we update regularly with the current balance.
  2. User Donations: While direct donations aren’t currently possible, members who wish to contribute can do so through active checkout tickets when finalizing a transaction. All that’s required is a notice to the admin managing the ticket indicating your intention to donate.

Benefits of Donating

Members who donate will receive a badge, visible to everyone, indicating their personal contribution to the fund. Multiple badges can be awarded to a single member. While having a badge isn’t mandatory to apply for the victim fund, regular donors may receive preferential treatment in accessing these funds. The most significant benefit is peace of mind for all SWAPD users. This program is currently in BETA mode, but if successful, it should reduce problems for victimized members.

Donation Amounts and Minimum

The minimum donation is $10 USD, but we welcome contributions of any amount from the entire community. Donations are entirely optional, and no one on SWAPD will judge you for not donating. Not donating will not disqualify you from the ability to recover your funds if you encounter an issue.

Tax Deductibility of Donations

For buyers, we can include the donation amount in your final invoice. However, sellers will receive only a transaction summary, which is not a taxable document.

How to Apply for Compensation

Each case will be individually investigated. To file for compensation, simply contact SWAPD staff by messaging @Administrators.

SWAPD Victim Fund Rules

  1. Access to the victim fund is a privilege, not a member’s right. This program is not part of our Terms of Service or Transaction Contract; it’s a social experiment aimed at helping defrauded members.
  2. Donations are non-refundable.
  3. Transactions older than 60 days (from the date the ticket closed) will no longer qualify for compensation.
  4. Compensation amounts will vary based on:
    a. Transaction amount
    b. Investigation outcome
    c. Buyer/seller reputation
    d. Number of donation badges collected by the applicant (not required but can be helpful)

Disclaimer

SWAPD staff retains the final say and complete control of the victim fund. Payouts depend on fund availability, applicant credibility, and the outcome of the investigation. Each case must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the applicant was defrauded. To prevent abuse, SWAPD staff may reject applications without notice or reason, and denied applications cannot be disputed.
