As we approach an incredible milestone of 100,000 members, HUGE changes are coming to SWAPD!

MAKE SWAPD PREMIUM AGAIN (#MSPA)

As we approach the 100,000 member milestone (finally!), we wanted to give the community an early look at some of the major changes and additions coming to SWAPD over the next 30 to 60 days.

In addition to our ongoing efforts to clean up the platform and improve marketplace quality, here’s what’s on the horizon.

More Payment Features

We’ve landed a deal with PayOp.com, bringing additional payment options to SWAPD buyers and sellers.

PayOp + PayDo

Users will be able to pay and get paid through PayDo.com, an alternative to PayPal that supports multiple currencies and payment methods.

Features include:

  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • Apple Pay
  • Multiple local payment methods
  • Support for 222 countries (excluding the United States for now)
  • Easy account setup in just a few minutes
  • Multi currency support
  • 4% processing fee (compared to PayPal’s 4.9%)

Revolut via PayOp

We’re also introducing Revolut payments through PayOp, with support for 44 countries, including the United States.

Our goal is to give users more flexibility, more payment options, and less dependency on a single provider.

The Biggest Purge Of The Services Section Is Incoming

We are planning a complete review of every single listing in all service categories.

This means we will be:

  • Removing dead weight
  • Removing untruthful claims (for example, unrealistic success rate claims)
  • Removing sellers who cannot deliver
  • Removing inactive listings
  • Removing duplicate and low quality offerings

The goal is simple: improve service quality and make it easier for buyers to find legitimate providers.

Complete Category Structure Overhaul

We’re also redesigning the entire marketplace structure.

Many of our categories were built years ago and no longer reflect the modern online business ecosystem. Over the coming months, we will be restructuring and expanding categories to better serve today’s market.

Some examples include:

  • Expanded AI service categories
  • Dedicated Backlinks category exclusively for backlink sales
  • More SEO focused categories
  • Additional online business categories
  • Better segmentation of services and digital assets

Our objective is to cover the online business space to its fullest extent and make SWAPD the most organized marketplace in the industry.

Service Listings Will Become Subscription Based

Once the purge is complete, we will be placing the Services Section behind a subscription model.

Subscription Options

Monthly Subscription

  • $79/month

Annual Subscription

  • Equivalent to $39/month

This concept has already been discussed extensively with the community, and the overwhelming majority of feedback was positive.

The purpose is not to restrict legitimate providers.

The purpose is to stop the endless cycle of:

  • Low effort resellers
  • Fly by night operators
  • Sellers trying their luck with no real business behind them
  • Marketplace pollution from low quality offerings

The monthly option is intentionally priced higher to discourage users from purchasing a single month just to test the waters before disappearing.

To offset the cost, subscribers will receive additional benefits and perks, which are still being finalized and will be announced separately.

What Remains Free

Only the Services Section will require a subscription (for sellers).

Users will still be able to list:

  • Social media assets
  • Domains
  • Websites
  • Digital properties
  • One off asset sales

free of charge.

Subscription payments will be processed by Stripe!

We Are Increasing Moderation 100x

We’ve already started implementing this over the past week and we’re already seeing results.

More bad actors are being stopped at the gate before they ever become a problem for buyers and sellers.

In addition, one of the most problematic countries for abuse and fraudulent activity will be entirely blocked from accessing SWAPD starting June 1st.

These measures are designed to reduce risk, improve trust, and create a safer marketplace for everyone.

The Road To 100,000 Members

Reaching 100,000 members is a huge milestone for SWAPD, but we’re treating it as the beginning of the next chapter rather than the finish line.

The upcoming changes are focused on one thing: making SWAPD cleaner, safer, and more valuable for serious buyers and sellers.

Thank you to everyone who helped us get here.

More announcements coming soon.

Nice! I have always been surprised that SWAPD has been free to sell on. I think a sellers fee or subscription in this case makes a lot sense and will help keep quality high.

Awesome! Free was great and worked for a while, but I’m glad you’re willing to give the paid version a shot. Hopefully it improves the experience for everyone.

I don’t love the idea of giving everyone free auto bumps as a perk, though. And tbh, I don’t think there should be any perks.

Yeah, still weighing this. Could create a spam fest on the front page. Decisions, decisions, decisions. It’s never easy.

Correct, and I don’t think it would have much impact on whether users subscribe to sell.

One thing worth considering is a daily insertion fee per listing, such as $0.50 per day, instead of a flat monthly fee for unlimited. For example, Seller A might have 50 active listings and pay $79 per month, while Seller B has only 2 listings and pays the same amount.

It could also encourage sellers to keep their listings current. If something isn’t generating sales or has become inactive, they’d be more likely to update it or take it down instead of letting it sit.

Not sure how many listings sellers average, but at $15/month per listing, it could possibly yield more than $39/79 per month. And sellers prob wouldn’t care because it helps get rid of junk and push more traffic to them.
