When you click on the blue tick, will it write “subscription” like on twitter or not?
I think there is a bug about design they will fix, paid blue tick must be separated from a normal blue click.
Indeed, otherwise I can impersonate Zuck himself which completely defies the purpose of Verification Badge and this program.

Twitter will remove all the legacy badges in a month or two. Soon, there will only be blue subscribers with badges.
I can’t see major celebrities / brands being okay with this longterm. It makes sense to keep it in place to scrape as much cash as possible by leveraging the blue badge however, –– I still see them introducing something to distinguish accounts that are notable. Couple reasons -

Given that the badge is all about authenticity,perhaps they will come out with a ‘Notable’ tag, who knows.

Relying on follower count to help determine if an account is notable is an inadequate method to determine notability. There’s massive accounts with 100k-1M followers are that not notable, and there’s accounts with a few thousand who are. Plus anyone who subscribes to meta-verified can easily boost their followers, that doesn’t mean their notable.
