SWAPD Staff Review: Trezor Hardware Crypto Wallet

One year review!

Even though I still like the device—it’s durable, reliable, and secure—I’ve found that over time, it’s becoming more problematic.

  1. TRON network is still not supported.
  2. It feels sluggish and clunkier to use now; everything seems to load slowly, even scrolling lags.
  3. If you have a large number of transactions, your wallet will become so slow it will be virtually unusable. This is due to the way Trezor works. The only way to combat this (confirmed by Trezor themselves) is to create a hidden wallet with a new address, move your funds there, and start using the new wallet.
  4. Accessing the hidden wallet feels clunky and sluggish.
  5. Things take time to boot up when you load the Trezor software.

It seems with each update, things are getting worse. Is it really that bad? No. It’s still a fine device, but it’s a shame to see that the software developers keep rolling out bad updates.
