wow, what a life…
I don’t think there is anything that cannot be achieved after hard work and perseverance.
oh, and the most important organ needs to be worked a little bit (BRAIN)
Your whole story resonates with me in soo many levels man that you have no idea, but this part is just plain true, period. I’ve been on both sides and I really know what each one feels like. And even nowadays, with kids and having to provide for them it even makes much more sense.
Well dude, keep the good work, thanks for creating this amazing place where we all can not only make good money and connections but also share our life stories, achievements and let downs.
Cheers
I moved to start a new life with my Polish wife, by the way. The economic status of Poland had nothing to do with my decision.
Personally I’d crash the wedding as restitution
SO REAL
Top stuff man.
Inspirational story I wish you success
Read the article now. But your wife is still using swapd.
Crazy story. Legend. @SWAPD
I guess since you’ve bumped this @versus it’s time for an update!
A few years later…
Am building a small single family home on a hill, from scratch! I have a new woman whom I engaged with, and a newly adopted son! Aside from daily work stress, life has never been better for me. Once I finish the new house I plan to sell my current duplex, and use those funds to buy 2x more city flats (as rent them out). My travel adventures continue, I lost track now how many places I’ve visited.
Don’t tell and teach him about Swapd, otherwise it’d be nepotism and a competition for us.
Jk mate, happy and good for you our boomer Owner. ![]()
what’s the approx price for it in your city?
Around 220k USD
I’ve thought about launching a competitor to SWAPD multiple times.
A Discourse forum is the easy part. But every time I seriously think about doing it, I stop because of one thing: Moderation.
Anyone can build a website, but running the actual operations at this scale is almost impossible.
The human side of what the SWAPD guys do is insane.
I thought this was posted recently when I saw it on top of the feed, but we’ve definitely crossed paths before, crazy how much overlap there is.
I used to do content locking (OGAds), I used to sell ebooks and was a Vendor on HF (also 14 year old me came across some questionable methods on the ebook section there cough Paxful), I was running forums since 10 years old (very active on webmaster related forums like Forum Promotion), did a lot of freelancing (SEOClerks / Fiverr). Used to use scripts to snipe limited items and collect tickets on Roblox and sell on V3rm. I had a mass number of social media when I used to do CPA (Jarvee was the software right?). And I used to run webmaster related blogs
Now I’m 26 and in a similar situation. Not wealthy, I actually take home about $60k on average the last 5 years after I pay my team, reinvest and spend money on SWAPD of course. But I’m not from a wealthy family, I’m the youngest of 4 siblings and by far the highest earner. I can go to supermarket and get what I want, when I travel I can eat out in nice restaurants and stay in a nice Airbnb or hotel.
Strongly considering moving to a cheaper country. UK is expensive. Poland has been on my radar for a while, I loved Krakow. Maybe I’ll go somewhere warmer though.
The internet is the great equalizer. If you’re from nothing, this is the place to build something.
Man you are still a baby. I started making my best online monies after 30. You got everything ahead of you.
Facts.
It’s nice, but it’s one of our most expensive regions :D Move anywhere else besides the big cities here and you can live like a king for way less, and still be close to those cities to enjoy them.
Beautifully said. Thank you for sharing your story.
Your words say otherwise!
I’m so happy for you, you deserve the world!
