price?
Why didnt you add price to the thread?
Without a custom automation script, this alone would take a person weeks. I know because I’ve manually collected them, and written my own bot that gathers these emails.
The way that forbes.com has set up their mailserver, there is no easy way to verify/validate email addresses other than actually sending an email and checking if it was delivered or checking for occurrences/mentions online. You would either have to:
A). Absolutely wreck a domain by manually sending each mail address an email. You would determine wether or not the email is valid by if the email was delivered or not. This could be automated through a CRM.
B). Use a service like Lusha or RocketReach (mentioning those 2 because they are the leaders in this sort of data), which would cost you hundreds of dollars for 900 verifications.
To summarize, not true
You can get these emails from hunter.io or ninjaoutreach or any other similar service. This list is quite useless, depending obviously the price of which it’s sold for as those services do not cost that much.
I’ve seen this list, this list is not something you can get on fiver
This includes much more than just an email
Untrue. Hunter has a total of 360 Forbes contacts, and most of them aren’t editors/contributors.
EDIT: Can’t even use Hunter for email verifications (other than those 360 contacts).
When I published my first research, we were given at school a list with over 4,000 email addresses of journalists from Forbes, WSJ, Washington Post, Apple, Tesla, etc. for us to narrow down and send them a crafted email that would bypass their filters, crazy how not even by having their email assures you they will get trough.
My advantage is that at Forbes I mean we were named the number 1 university this calendar year by them, history.
I’ve had friends coming to me for the list and I usually let loose a 500 or so since I worked hard with my group to narrow them down by areas, it’s all about helping.
But usually these outreach sites have old databases, and since we also have the number 1 computer science program in the nation a couple friends who work on their serves have said THEY CHANGE ALIAS BY THE MINUTE y’all crazy thinking someone from Forbes is going to keep the same email for years lmao indeed they usually their true one is only for between work colleagues rest is just aliases.
LOOOL
There are many alternatives to hunter.io… ive scouted emails before as I deal with SEO and outreach and most of these sites cost $100 monthly fee only or less.
That’s literally what I said if you scroll up
Althought you’re off by x3-x5 on the pricing (unless you want to wait a month inbetween each set of data)
EDIT: Correction: Hunter has a total of 363 contacts related to Forbes, whereas only 40-50 of them can accurately be determined to be editors or contributors. I collected all of their Forbes editors less than 48 hours ago (using their “Growth” plan), and I was honestly really disappointed.
And? Those emails can be collected using whichever similar platform.
I love the discussion. To clear something up, the spreadsheets I’ll give you, particularly for Forbes, isn’t just @Forbes.com emails. In my experience those are typically for senior contributors. I’ve seen the most success contacting the writers on their personal e-mail which I provide.
Also, like anything in life you can try to do this yourself, pay others to get you a list etc, or you can buy the one I e already compiled and landed 8 full feature Forbes articles with.
Again, I love the discussion!
Why on EARTH would anyone do this manually? LOL
You’re absolutely right.
They ALWAYS use 1/3 alternations (professionally). Alias’ doesn’t matter as you don’t need the alias.
EDIT: edited to protect OP’s thread
Yes, for hundreds of $ and a lot of time spent unless using very careful & fresh (as in recently scripted) automation.
No matter how you collect the emails, you NEED to validate them or you’ll trash your domain. None of the lead-generation or email-validation platforms can do so accurately because of how Forbes email-server is set up. The best they can do is check for occurances online, and there goes 95% of your email list.
