Over the last 24 hours we have received a wave of direct messages from concerned members asking whether SWAPD is shutting down. The confusion started after a member advertised a similar platform called HUSLD on SWAPD.
SWAPD is not closing. In fact, SWAPD is stronger than ever.
At the moment, there are close to 300 live transactions on the platform. We are seeing millions of views per month, and signups have recently begun to increase again. Activity across categories remains healthy, and the marketplace continues to grow.
HUSLD exists for a different purpose.
Think of it as platforms like OGU or BHW, but with some of the safety principles inspired by SWAPD. It operates with fewer rules and fewer restrictions. That freedom can be appealing, but it comes with tradeoffs.
HUSLD is a peer to peer platform. That means higher risk, fewer protections, and limitations such as not being able to obtain invoices. SWAPD, on the other hand, is designed to help sellers reach the masses with structure, credibility, and buyer trust.
Interestingly, we are already seeing some creative behavior emerge. Some SWAPD sellers are using HUSLD to bypass our no reselling rule by sourcing services there and reselling them on SWAPD. Since many sellers list on both platforms, this has become noticeable very quickly.
In just 12 hours, HUSLD reached nearly 250 members and over 200 new listings. For sellers who are struggling on SWAPD or looking to expand their portfolio, HUSLD may present additional opportunities.
While HUSLD may offer flexibility, it does not offer the same protections as SWAPD.
Anything you bring from HUSLD to SWAPD is your responsibility. Due diligence matters more than ever. SWAPD remains committed to safety, structure, and accountability, and those standards do not change.
SWAPD is not going anywhere.
Alternative platforms can coexist, and in some cases even complement each other. But SWAPD continues to be the place where serious buyers and sellers connect at scale, backed by protections that matter.
