I have an old Gmail address. When I tried to transfer my X (Twitter) account to it, I found that it’s already registered with another X account — but I never created that account.
I contacted X support to ask for the username, but they told me they cannot share it. I just want to know the username that is registered with my email. Is there any way I can find this out?

Try password recovery on X (Twitter) using your Gmail address. If the account exists, X might send a password reset email with the associated username.
I’ve tried many times, but I’m required to provide my username in order to request a password recovery
Log in via Gmail (if it was created using Google login)
If someone used “Continue with Google” to make the account:
Go to https://x.com
**Click “Sign in” → “Sign in with Google”
Choose your old Gmail
If you have proof that you own the email address and didn’t create the account, you can file a report for unauthorized account use:

Fill it out as:
Topic: “I can’t access my account”
Describe the issue like this:
“My Gmail address is linked to an X account that I never created. I’m trying to use my email to register or recover my actual X account, but it’s already in use by another account that I don’t recognize. I cannot provide a username because I never created the account. Please help me reclaim or identify the account associated with my email.”
If it logs in, you’re in and can recover the account or at least see the username.
Unfortunately, X support won’t disclose the username for privacy reasons. If the Gmail is truly yours, the only legit way is to secure your Gmail first, then initiate a password reset on X using that email. If you suspect the account was created without your consent, you can also report it via X’s ‘Impersonation or unauthorized use’ form they may release the email for reuse once verified
