How to transfer TikTok accounts? We need your help

Since things slowed down on SWAPD I have enough free time to catch up on things. One thing on our TO-DO list is to create TikTok policies/transfer instructions. Currently, we allow ticket holders to transfer TikTok accounts on heir own, but each ticket is messy and we believe it’s mostly due to the fact that TikTok is either buggy or has some odd security features.

Most common TikTok transfer problem

Here is the list of the most common problems during transfers:

  1. Unable to change the email address.
  2. Unable to change the phone number.
  3. Unable to change the password.

Virtually 1/2 of TikTok transfers on SWAPD experience one of these problems. We’ve had a few workarounds. Sometimes clearing the cache works, sometimes it doesn’t. Recently, we’ve tried the “don’t log in for 7 days” method (which worked twice now), which allows you to change these things after 7 full days of not touching the account (security feature?). Anyway, as you see, TikTok transfers are a mess. I want to use this topic to collect every piece of information you may have on this platform. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think @Ryan might be able to help.

From my experience, accounts can sometimes get locked when logging in from a new device and the security warnings are kept in the section below for 7 days, that’s why it always worked for you.

If accounts get locked, you can force the change of password by using the “Forgot password” option but there’s nothing you can do with phone number and email addresses in most cases (although sometimes it allows you to change them even after the account got locked).

To avoid this, I tell the seller to change the current phone number and email address to mine from his device before I log in, so even when the account gets locked it won’t matter as the current information will be mine and I can just force the change of password and then log out all the other devices.

TikTok is very buggy indeed, and certain countries experience that the most. I never have problems, only to those who are based in India lol which is very weird

It appears from my experience that certain countries can get away with more. A person in Norway could do certain things after transfer TikTok wouldn’t allow me to do in the Uk, but if he logged in from Norway it would be allowed.

So, is it safe to say that we, at the moment, cannot come up with transfer protocols? At least until TikTok fixes their platform?

Interested to know too. I have some OG tiktok usernames that I’m looking to sell (secured them myself), will need some help with honest appraisals and guidance on the transfer process as well

TikTok is picky about numbers. You need to try new ones until it works.
