I received a copyright/DMCA strike on Instagram and reached a $500 settlement with the claimant. After I paid, they confirmed and sent me a screenshot that they submitted a written retraction to Instagram and gave me a retraction reference number. The retraction was submitted on September 18 and it’s now September 24 and the strike still hasn’t been lifted from my account. Has anyone here had a DMCA retraction processed by Instagram? How long did it take for your strike to disappear?
Have you tried reaching out to the appropriate support quaters?
If the Instagram account is still active, a copyright/DMCA withdrawal normally takes up to 3 days to be processed and reflected on the account.
If the account is already disabled, the process is different. In that situation, all copyright/DMCA complaints that contributed to the disablement need to be formally retracted by the respective rights holders. Once the withdrawals are submitted, the account restoration process can take up to 7 business days.
Make sure to keep all withdrawal confirmations, retraction/reference numbers, original report numbers, and supporting documentation. If the account is still disabled after the applicable processing period, provide those references to Meta Support and request a manual review of the account.
