Introducing SWAPD Secret Customers – Cleaning Up the Marketplace

It’s no secret—offsite deals happen all the time on SWAPD. And while we eventually catch those who try to bypass our platform, there’s a more insidious issue that we can no longer ignore: sellers attempting to steal clients from other sellers. This practice isn’t just unethical—it’s disruptive and detrimental to the integrity of our marketplace.

A casual conversation with one of our members (@Verus), who experienced this firsthand, sparked an idea: Why not combat this the same way restaurant owners send in Secret Customers to evaluate their staff?

Enter SWAPD Secret Customers

Starting today, all @administrators and @moderators have been instructed to create undercover SWAPD accounts. These accounts will be fully verified (ID verifications, trust signals—you name it), making them indistinguishable from any other legitimate buyer. Their mission? To randomly test the honesty of our sellers by setting up controlled entrapment scenarios.

Sounds harsh? Well, losing clients, revenue, and the integrity of our marketplace is worse.

To be clear: This is the only announcement we will be making on this topic. If you’re engaged in these dishonest practices, consider this your warning—stop now. We’ve already banned a major seller (@kraya) with over $200,000 in sales after they were caught attempting to steal a client/assets. Instead of showing remorse, they even went as far as threatening to report the original seller to M.

This is the reality of this industry: Trust no one. Conmen are out there, but we’re making it our mission to weed them out. Our hope is that this new strategy will restore fairness and ensure SWAPD remains a secure, trustworthy platform for all legitimate buyers and sellers.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I want to confess something…

I have been using this site for many years,

And I constantly encounter scammers who try to lure me off the platform…

I have reported and had many of them banned.

Sometimes, I negotiate with people I meet outside the site for business purposes,

For example, via Telegram,

Since communication is faster there.

They try to direct me to MM (middleman) for transactions.

I don’t know why, but I don’t prefer it.

Instead, I encourage them to become members of SWAPD and conduct business there.

It is definitely a solid and secure place, like a bank.

Even in real life, when buying land or a house,

we use a notary for security—

So, why not use this platform

since it ensures the well-being of both parties?

Both sides have zero risk.

That’s why I don’t understand why some people are ungrateful towards it…

I guess it’s to avoid paying fees.

But personally, I am happy to be here.

I used to think that

there was no fairness, that new members and millionaire members were not treated equally,

that they were prioritized more.

But after a few recent experiences,

I’ve realized that they are now fair and equal.

Absolutely agree with the need for integrity on this platform. It’s good to see SWAPD taking proactive steps to ensure fairness and hold sellers accountable. This kind of transparency is essential to maintain trust and protect honest users. Hopefully, this will set a strong example for others and keep the community secure for everyone. Well done, SWAPD team! :muscle:

This is getting serious now. But this was needed for the platform.

My perspective when using SWAPD is that anyone who tries to lure me off the website for a transaction is automatically a scammer.

I highly support this

@swapd I have a problem that a lot of members are dealing with. Whenever someone posts a buyer request, a bunch of new accounts show up saying, “We can do your job.” It’s obvious they’re trying to take deals offsite since they can’t open tickets.

You told me before to report them, but they’re still around, spamming chats and messages.

I think new accounts that aren’t ID-verified should only be able to post buyer requests, not message sellers. Not sure how, but the staff should look into it. This might help stop offsite deals.

Report again. We issue warning on first offense because NOT EVERYONE knows that offsite isn’t allowed. If they continue to do this, report and they’re out.
