Is Escrow.com Safe?

Buyer wants to deal trough escrow.com because he apparently only uses that site to buy or sell any digital asset, has anyone had any experience with this site? Can i get scammed trough there?

Pd: already offered SWAPD but he doesn’t trust it and hasn’t heard anything about it.

Escrow.com is a reputable and well-established platform for escrow services, and it’s one of the pioneers in the industry. However, there are some nuances and potential pitfalls to be aware of, especially when dealing with social media assets, as Escrow.com may not be fully versed in the specifics of such transactions.

I’ve come across two common scams involving Escrow:

  1. Fake Escrow Confirmation: Scammers have you register with Escrow as usual, but then send a fraudulent email pretending to be from Escrow.com. This email falsely claims that the funds have been received, prompting you to transfer the asset to the buyer prematurely.

  2. Disputed Asset Transfer: After initiating a legitimate escrow transaction and transferring the digital asset, the scammer may falsely claim that the asset was never transferred, or that it was reclaimed by the seller. Because Escrow.com isn’t specifically designed for digital assets, they might struggle to effectively adjudicate such disputes, leaving the seller vulnerable.

Despite these risks, I’ve used Escrow.com several times to purchase digital assets without any issues, generally from sellers not deeply familiar with the digital industry.

For those considering using Escrow for services, I recommend utilizing the milestone payment feature. It’s also crucial to describe the transaction details thoroughly to ensure clarity and transparency for all parties involved.

Thanks mate i appreciate your input. Do you think if i describe well the item and record videos of me loggin in the page with said password as proof could be a viable way?

If any problems arise having proof like that could help, but it’s ultimately up to escrow who they side with.

I would have screen recording of the convo when you provide the login details to the buyer and maybe having him confirm he’s in. Also screen shots of notifications of new login, email change, password change etc. just incase.

Also, something I would really recommend is asking them to provide proof of his previous successful transactions on escrow. A quick screen shot of his previous transactions list. As they mentioned they use escrow to buy all their assets. If you see that there were no issues in his previous purchase that would give me more of an ease to deal with him or her.

Thanks mate.
