There are two conspiracy theories already that suggest why FB/IG is down (they’re scrubbing info and prepping for censorship of the following stories):

First, it’s the Pandora Paper leaks. The biggest financial leak that reveals offshore stashes of politicians and business tycoons.

Second, yesterday a whistleblower went on US television to reveal her identity after she leaked a trove of documents to authorities alleging the company knew its products were fueling hate and harming children’s mental health.
