Meta Verified vs Legacy

Can someone please explain the main difference between Meta verification and legacy? I understand M offers better reach and exposure, but other than that, is there anything else? More security on legacy or? If someone is versed on this topic please let me know.

Asking this because I have Meta verification and debating on spending the money for legacy (in case it truly offers stronger protection, etc.)

Legacy verification was given free to notable accounts, mainly for credibility.
Meta Verified is a paid subscription that gives you:

  • Proactive impersonation protection
  • Priority customer support
  • Boosted reach & exposure

Both show the same blue badge, but legacy feels more “exclusive.” If you rely on your account for business or growth, Meta Verified offers extra security & support — otherwise legacy alone is fine.

Thank you. Legacy doesn’t, however, protect or shield your account any more than regular Meta verification that you pay for, correct?

Meta Verified is paid and gives faster support, ID-based protection, and small reach boosts. Legacy was earned through notability more prestige, but no extra support. Both protect your account, but Meta Verified helps more with direct assistance.

Meta Verification mainly offers better visibility, reach, and engagement, along with a verified badge for your account across Meta platforms. It’s more about exposure and credibility.

Legacy Verification, on the other hand, is typically associated with older verification methods. It may offer slightly more security or a stronger trust factor, especially for long established accounts, but Meta Verification now provides the broader benefits of reach and engagement.
