Do they really convert?

I think apart from Home page ads. The sidebar ads are a second best thing to put your money into for ads. Then, third best is getting featured tag and being pinned in specific category/sub-category.

Does anyone try and it convert well for them?

Also, @swapd - Is there anything to track these clicks? I mean some proven data to show it really helps?
