Telegram launched Username Auctions on their TON blockchain - fragment.com
Everything is pretty expensive for now but users should be able to list their own usernames soon.

TON testnet2 was promoted to mainnet in May 2021 (source: ton.org).
The addresses bidding crazy amounts of money on the Auction Platform started getting their TON from PoW givers back in May 2020, when the mainnet was a testnet.
Examples:
• Ef8acpBAmfTonu2kfXjx7qP7cEPqbLPm5W8niVXaQOjV0yBJ (over 1M TON)
• Ef95yO_AT7oi4M2Py55spUTC9_g161nl7FerluhWZfkNv3bM (over 800K TON)
• Ef-zqJWZh3JddLCyNQHuAmsNL1Ra9DmAusPHDJxGolDSfFwE (over 3M TON)
All 3 addresses are constantly bidding the same usernames (@casino, @bank, @auto, @avia, etc.) and raising the prices.
