Hello friends,
I’d like to explain a delicate situation that I honestly can’t understand.
In February, I received five copyright violation reports on some photos (selfie of me made by mysel!) from my Instagram profile. All of them were false reports, and the person who filed them used my own name and claimed the photos belonged to an account of someone who looks absolutely nothing like me.
Of course, I have all the screenshots and even the link to the profile that supposedly holds the rights to my photos.
I appealed each reported photo, but I never received any feedback. As I expected, after a few days (on February 28), I was banned from Instagram for copyright violations.
I should point out that I have a META-verified profile with ID verification.
I submitted an appeal the same day with all proves of false claims, but nothing happened - the screen just kept showing, “We’ve received your appeal and will get back to you.”
Later, this person contacted me asking for money to remove the reports.
After two months, thanks to a user from this site, I managed to get unbanned - but after just 48 hours, my account was banned again. I managed to get the ban lifted again, and after another 3 days, I was banned once more.
The most absurd part is that in my Account Status, there are no copyright violations listed, yet both of these new bans were due to Copyright / Intellectual Property.
I was told that maybe the reason is that an “Instant Unban” was used, which is supposedly less secure than other methods - but I’m not really sure what that means.
I don’t believe it was that same person who banned me again, because they haven’t reached out to me since, and they would have no reason to keep reporting me without contacting me afterward.
Right now, the account is in UNAPPEALED status.
I would really appreciate if someone could explain why these things happened (especially the last two bans) and if anyone can help me lift the current ban while the account is still UNAPPEALED.
Thank you for help
