A new social platform called UpScrolled is gaining notable traction as TikTok faces growing turbulence in the United States.
UpScrolled — a short-form, community-focused social app that blends videos, photos, and text posts, has seen a significant surge in downloads and rankings in recent days. After TikTok’s U.S. ownership shift sparked uncertainty among users, UpScrolled climbed into the top ranks of the Apple App Store, reaching as high as No. 12 overall and No. 2 in the social networking category in the U.S. charts.
According to analytics data, the app experienced a 2,850% increase in daily downloads immediately after the TikTok transition news, adding roughly 41,000 installs over a three-day span. Lifetime installs are estimated at around 140,000 globally, with approximately 75,000 of those in the United States since its launch.
On Android, UpScrolled shows steady growth as well, with over 63,000 downloads and a strong user rating, reflecting interest across platforms.
The app’s growth appears driven not only by broader dissatisfaction with recent changes at TikTok, including ownership and moderation policy concerns, but also by a vocal user community seeking alternatives that emphasize open expression and fewer algorithm-driven constraints.
Despite this momentum, UpScrolled remains early in its lifecycle compared with major incumbents. What is clear, however, is that when dominant social platforms face instability or perceived restrictions, opportunities open for new apps to gain organic attention and downloads.
