2021 Twitter Verification Program

Twitter is bringing back the self submit verification option when the new year kicks off. They just updated this resource and if you look at the A/B breakdown you will see what they are looking for:

It’s really the first time any network has made their “checklist” public.

Hearing that there is also going to be an audit/purge of inactive verified accounts also, so worth logging in/posting if you have one that has been idle. The person that told me this no longer works there but is very close with many of the key players and over the past dozen years anything he’s told me regarding Twitter has been on point 100%.

Way different lol. IGs is still vague to the public. Twitter is providing a roadmap to what their new requirements are. Not sure how you cant see that if you truly read that resource…

They actually published the exact requirements for each niche. I’m assuming that they’ll grind those self verification request as soon as they’re open so it’s time to take advantage. Thanks for sharing this.

I was told when the program opens they will be getting them done this way but then as it become bombarded and backed up it will essentially become useless again like before and you will have to continue to go through your rep to get them done and they may bring back the agency access panel like they had way back in the beginning. So anyone with a solid account jump on it fast because it sounds like the window of opportunity will be small. Again, just info - but this person has deep ties and has no reason to feed me bs.

It’s supposed to start 20-01-2020

It seems like the new requirements penalize public figures in major cities, no?

If you’re referring to the requirement of being .1% of the ‘most followed’ account in X area, then no. Because the actual public figures will still be branched under ‘notable activists/other notable entities’, and keep their checks that way.

Twitter removed the checkmark of around 12,000 accounts 2 days ago, apparently, this was just the first sweep where they took the check off inactive and incomplete accounts. Further sweeps are expected. Moving forward, Twitter will also categorize verified accounts based on what they’re notable/verified for.

even for new verifications you think?

They’ve taken the badge back from recently verified accounts too. This one for example:

If you’re verified, and want to make sure you’ll survive (at least the first few sweeps), you should check the link: https://twitter.com/i/badge_violations

Wasn’t verified, but clicked Goofys link jaja

So I have been seeing people getting verified again, but the public form is not open yet. (At least for me)

Are they rolling out the form to people with large follow counts first? the form was supposed to come out in January 20 last I heard before they changed it

The form is still not out. Verification has always been available to select accounts that qualify. The accounts that have been verified recently are managed by media organizations, news publishers, record labels, and similar.

The form was expected to come out February 5th, but I’ve also heard that it may not come until mid-May 2021.
