Hello, SWAPDsters!
Straight to the huge news we have for everyone! After years of competing against our rival, we’ve finally managed to acquire FameSwap.com.
After months of negotiations, we were able to make a deal and fully purchase the entire business, from the domain to the database, along with all the members. We will not be disclosing the amount which it sold for due to the signed NDA. However, we can hint that it was in the upper six-digits. This is a huge step for us and will place us as the undisputed king as far as the volume of transactions goes. Along with this acquisition, there will be plenty of things changing over the upcoming weeks, from the domain, company name, to our transaction and payment policies. We will also introduce a new verification process which should make things even more secure.
So, what can you expect?
- Domain change. We will no longer be called SWAPD or FameSwap. We’ve managed to close a deal, and we’re acquiring Swapped.com on Friday. SWAPD.co and
FameSwap.com
will go on sale to the highest bidder. - Merge of databases. We’re combining the two databases to mix all the members from SWAPD with members from FameSwap. Our community will be the biggest in our industry once this step is completed.
- Verification process. No more ID verifications! We’re taking a different route and will now force all members who want to join to download our app, which will be upgraded to have the latest biometric scanning features. iPhone users will be able to verify simply by FaceID, and Android users will need to scan their fingerprint in order to join. Also (this may be an unpopular move, but it’s needed), our app will require deep access to your devices (used for further verifications). This means access to text messages, photos, GPS, and a few more sectors.
- Ticket procedures. This is the last major change, and it has to do with transaction fees. To offset the huge expense we’ve endured, we are forced to raise transaction fees to 15%. This is only temporary, and we will gradually decrease the fees in the upcoming years. We realize that this move will cause havoc, but please keep in mind that other similar sites charge more. For example, EmpireFlippers charges 18%.
We’re also going to do a major overhaul of the entire website. Virtually every aspect will be changed, from the CMS to the logo. Speaking of which, we will soon launch a contest logo for our new venture. Willing designers are encouraged to join and submit their ideas. The winning logo will receive a 1000 USD reward.
In conclusion, big changes are coming your way. Please bear with us in the upcoming weeks while we transition, as we may experience a few days of downtime. We welcome your comments or questions!
