It cost 1500$ a year for a VMC certificate, you need your logo trademarked as well as setting up BIMI.

Anyone could get it, it can be a long process tho with getting the logo trademark done. Wonder if there is a faster way.
It would be amazing to see if anyone on SWAPD can get this for a much cheaper price. Currently, I think only two sites offer a way to get the VMC for emails and they are both around that price you mentioned. Would love to see if someone can get sell it for far cheaper.
Considering it is a yearly thing, would bring in a pretty good income for the person too (;
