Cleaning up SWAPD - The saga continues. Unverified ID buyers will no longer be able to elevate to a Dispute unless they ID verify!

SWAPD has always been a platform dedicated to secure and transparent transactions, but like any marketplace, it attracts its fair share of bad actors. In an ongoing effort to clean up the platform and reduce fraud, we’re rolling out a firm new policy:

:rotating_light: Unverified buyers will no longer be able to escalate to a Dispute unless they complete ID verification! :rotating_light:

Why This Change?

While we previously applied this rule inconsistently in some tickets, as of today, it’s a site-wide policy. The reason? We’ve noticed an interesting trend—many fresh buyers who initially had an issue with their purchase suddenly “forget” about their complaints the moment we ask them for ID verification. This tells us that some disputes may not be as genuine as they seem.

By requiring ID verification before allowing dispute escalation, we aim to:

:white_check_mark: Reduce fraudulent claims – Preventing anonymous users from abusing the dispute system.
:white_check_mark: Encourage accountability – Ensuring that buyers are serious and legitimate.
:white_check_mark: Protect honest members – Keeping scammers and troublemakers out.

What This Means for Buyers

If you’re a buyer on SWAPD, this change is simple: No ID, no dispute escalation. If you ever need to open a dispute, be prepared to verify your identity first.

For legitimate users, this policy will actually help you by making the platform more secure and ensuring that bad-faith actors can’t exploit the system.

Final Thoughts

This is just one of many steps we’re taking to improve the integrity of SWAPD. The fight against fraud is never over, but we’re committed to making SWAPD safer and better for all legitimate users.

The best cleanup will be not allowing un verified user to open service thread. Recently lot of them offering services creating confusions and waste of time too.

w cleanup!

That’s basically Scaring new potential sellers away from the site, which also could be a roadblock for Swapd not get new traffic that sells.

Currently, It’s set to NOT being able to start a checkout ticket, UNLESS they ID verify themselves.

So, two scenario arise from here onwards :

a) They ID verify themselves thinking they’ve got a client ready to do a ticket with them, so it’s a cooked query.
b) They don’t want to ID verify themselves, which allows buyers and Staff to determine, they might have been a scamming thug or a time wasting twat on or after ticket which is a win-win.

Since Swapd has a no refund policy how is this even an issue for Swapd?

This is an issue with the Buyer and Seller you taking this away to ‘‘protect’’ sellers is crazy.

I mean go at the reputation niche and check how many of them don’t say the truth about Articles Removals on Google,Bing etc. They make fake DMCA claims that most of the time the article comes back, but thank god the buyer can leave a negative review.

You should confirm the terms in ticket. Like warranty and you can ask the seller if they using fake dmca, don’t work with them.

What does this solve? The seller can just lie because there are 0 repercussions for sellers. All you can do is leave a review after.

It’s far more risky for Buyers than Sellers in Swapd but I don’t understand this protection of sellers where they hold all the power because of the no refund policy, now you want to make it harder for them to even make a dispute for money they paid on a service that didn’t deliver.

You should use trusted seller with good track record of that specific service. I delivered some removals on site, nothing came back :slightly_smiling_face:

Can Vouch for him
