The SWAPD Purge - Cleaning of SWAPD - Tracking Thread

We’ve created this thread to show you that your complaints don’t go unnoticed. We’ll use this page to track upcoming changes, document implemented updates, and discuss potential improvements. The main goal is to clean up SWAPD from unwanted members and low quality listings, this will be no easy task so we appreciate all the input. Below you can follow our progress on this fiasco!

Currently being worked on (Updated on 03.03.25):

We welcome your suggestions, but here are some clear things we will not do:

  1. Introduce paid listings (like Flippa, for example)
  2. Force buyers to ID verify
  3. Force any user to ID verify to start a sales topic
  4. Force ID verify users to use chat

Your input is needed!

Thoughts on creating a Unique Services (Newbies) for new users, not seen on the front page, while keeping the reg US section for Trust Level 1 and above?

Can you get them to pass an English exam too?

Think thats a very good idea

also in case you want to ban a whole country because so many users come on here to cause trouble, i would just whitelist the few good users and block the rest.

Some New Users were selling Premium properties worth $xxxxx. All are not professional sellers. This shouldnt be implemented…

They would still be able to list, just won’t be seen on the home page. We have to make a sacrifice somewhere for the greater good.

All prospective buyers will not always search for premium properties in some hidden dens. They see, they evaluate, they buy. New trusted users must also have an equal opportunities to post on front Page if they have something worth selling…

  • Paid listings ($1/day from account balance). There are enough established sellers here who service 80% of buyer activity. This would significantly reduce low quality listings and spam, and also encourage users to close inactive listings.

  • Require ID verification in order to create topics

  • Do not require ID verification for buyers

  • Make site a little less professional (mimicking the feel of some of the other sites) by introducing one rotating banner ad at the top with three slots

  • Include calculator on checkout flow

  • Add tipping (via credits) which will encourage faster tickets & boost overall moral of users and staff

  • increase price of auto bumps

  • ban @woody

Okeeey, we think we found the solution to cleaning up the home page!

We’re not sure if it’s possible to do, but our solution combines the best of both worlds, and that is:

  1. Cleaning up the front page, with minimal staff effort
  2. Allowing newbs to exist and still be seen

Our idea is to:

  1. Limit front page topics to Trust Level 2 users or higher. Only topics from trusted members would be seen on the home page. At the same time, we would increase the requirement to become TL2. How does this solve the problem? Well, a TL2 user had to be on SWAPD for at least XX amount of days, had to be liked, had to like, had to read/engage in things, so he/she is LESS likely to post sped-like stuff.
  2. Leave /latest to show ALL activity, from all trust levels and all users. This way everyone is happy, new users get a chance to be seen easily, and any trash that gets in there is NOT seen on the front page.

This would also place more weight on Trust Levels, users wouldn’t be so careless to lose such an account, would engage them MORE on SWAPD, and hopefully improve ALL THE THINGS you guys don’t currently like.

Perfect.

It feels cheap opening a ticket on swapd for $100-$200 and having you guys get $20.

Because you are getting $20 for days of works (specifically how long now days tickets last)

This would make the site better.

When im paying $20 for premium middleman service, it feels like im paying an indian guy, cause who the hell works for $20. You are definitely under valuing your service by even mentioning ($20) minimum.

$50 sounds exactly. Would also eliminate tickets you dont want (low $ tickets)

Latest is my default view, so the cleanup wouldn’t be noticeable from my end personally. But I like the thought of limiting to level 2.

It’s the least disruptive change for staff. If this can be implemented code-wise, we will try it for a few weeks and see where it takes us.

Security concern mentioned on new profile looks some odd. It shows some one is scammer behind the profile and also this effect on buyers
Something else, like new member or any other word should be mentioned on new profile.

Additionally, if someone has insured his services with swapd, this should also be mentioned on the profile.

We did a good job, then.

Please Work On The Bump Glitch, I Have Tagged You Multiple Times But I Was Ignored.

Bumped 4 Days Ago.

I Press Bump!!!

You Can Only Bump Once Every 48 Hours!

This Is Hurting My Growth Please Fix This.

Reduce The Minimum Credit Purchase Price To $25. $100 Is Too Much For Sellers Like Me.

New addition: Stop approving overly-AI written listings. If your listing has more emojis than actual text, it will not get approved. @Administrators @moderators, please start doing this ASAP.
