Coronavirus - Mega thread

I live in Spain, it’s quite bad right now. Today is the first ‘official’ day of lockdown. Fines range from 500e to 3000e for leaving the house.

Originally you could do the following ;

Go to the hairdressers (!?!?)
Go to the launderette
Hospital
Pharmacy
Supermarket

Now, you can only do hospital and supermarket. But the supermarket closest to me is completely emtpy, by emtpy, I mean it’s honestly a shell…

I have a freezer full of food, and the new Bitcoin currency, toilet paper. So il be just fine

I understand the importance of lockdowns for public health, but at the same time adding those big fines always seem too much for me. It’s basically house arrest

Pretty much, meant to be a 15 day quarantine. Just going to ride it out. We were either going to try leave and go UK, US or Dubai, but insurance / all that ■■■■ is a big issue

i dont see how corona would affect the site… with more people at home equals more people on social media lol

250 cases in Israel. We are doomed. No schools, no clubs, no bars, no gyms, nothing. Supermarkets are getting empty. Thank god Israel has a lot of supply so theyre restocking easily.

Same thing over here. Schools, gyms, clubs, bars, pubs - all closed.
We currently don’t have a problem with the shops & supermarkets, but people are hoarding for specific items and in some cities, it’s becoming a problem.

Flights are being cancelled, malls are closing & it’s just crazy right now.
Hope this passes by soon!

Everything closed in Albania as well from about 5 days now , and they say it will continue so , hoping that they will prevent the virus from spreading.

Pretty sure we all gonna get it it’s just a matter of time of WHEN , the countries just don’t want us all at once hit the hospital because that would be the real mess in here after all.

If the world doesn’t find a cure/fix fast (<2 months), it will be the worst recession and society disruption since the World War II

Stuff like “let’s buy some land and grow veggies and fruits” and restart from 0

For millions of people

This virus is not the Black Plague but has the capacity of bankrupting many countries and most of their citizens

Quarantine and total lockdown is the best immediate solution to flatten the curve and allow healthcare to cure patients. But I see most countries not giving a damn.

I’m Italian and I’m proud of what Italians are doing.
But I live in Miami and I see 90% of people partying as usual. Made me realize how low of an IQ people here have.

Another huge problem is lack of leadership, terrible communications, non existent unity and cooperation in our politics.

The case that people are staying home will affect positively on social media. My pages’ engagement skyrocketed in the past few days. In my opinion there will be more deals on Swapd as well.

It was just fine few houres ago. Now we got the first case (patient reported) today 5 hours ago. Im officialy scared

From a media business side with lots of well known (non health) websites, traffic is down up to 20% main from search with search volumes for anything other than Corona being Significantly down.

The U.K. is now ramping things out… the PM has just said everyone who can should work from home and people should stop socialising and going to pubs, restaurants, cinemas etc and to Stop any unnecessary travel. I recon we are weeks if not days away from an Italian style lock down.
