Discussion: Close Friends

For the past 2 weeks I’ve been playing around with the effects of adding your whole following to close friends. So far I’ve seen amazing results from a business getting 5x the story views and this dead 135k account getting almost 10 times as many story views from 849 to 7,733 and gaining followers for the first time this year. Has anyone played around with it?

Click to Add all your followers to close friends
Update 1

Ran the first A/B Tests on a 15k business account. Regular stories got between 800-1,500 reach - close friends got 5,000

AFTER:

Update 2

Ran it on a business account that saw 4x higher story views
Ran it on a dead 130k account (only 60,000 were added until the test) and story views went from 400-700 to 5,200

Account also sees a lot more organic reach because more story interactions and story views

Seems at healthy speeds around 150-200k a month would be doable, need to play more with the speed.

Going to try this with larger businesses and report back

Adding your personal friends to the account? Is that it?

No like adding all your followers of your account to your close friends

Quick update about the dead account I tried this one. A post went really viral after a close friends story so there was quite the growth spike.

Yes, I have also been running this since June since on my bot since the developer included that with his license fee.

The service works much like how you say and nearly all clients receive a noticeable boost in reach.

Whether that reach stays around, it really depends on what the client is posting on their story since their first stories after adding all followers are the most important.

Def hands doen the best service to re-engage your audience or help lift shadowban.

This is the most I’ve added on a single account still got 1.3m more to add, but will update this thread once this brand tests the Close Friends stories around Black friday with their accounts.

I’m working on a 13M follower account @420.

It still won’t be done for 3 weeks LOL, but I’ll see if I can get a screenshot from the client once done.

I also thought it would be fun to scrape the 100M+users who follow @instagram and then see if I can add that many to one of my accounts but it will take so long that’s probably moot.

Also, since my profiles dont have 100M followers, we will be adding user who don’t follow my profile.

They will not see the close friends posts in the story feed since they dont follow however they should still see the green ring around your profile if you interact with them via a story view or liking a post.

I’ve actually done something similar for a few clients where we add users who don’t follow the profile for specfiic targeting reasons.

Yeah I’ve actually played with that idea too, but again adding people that don’t follow you doesn’t make any sense because they will never see the stories or posts.

It would only make sense, if we scrape the 100m - then cross reference the user’s followers and then only add the followers. That would only save the time of the scraping though.

The purpose of doing this is to have the green ring around your profile during an interaction to draw someone into noticing you. For example, let’s say you’re trying to get ahold of Drake. You’d follow him, comment on his posts, DM and interact with his profile every moment possible in hopes of getting ahold of him. This trick could be implemented to stand out alot more than other users where the story rings display like on a profile page or when seeing a user in the story viewers. Pretty much useless but there’s a small distinction. The goal isn’t for posts or stories to be seen. It’s to have the green ring around your profile pic.

Not sure what you mean here, but the whole concept of me adding 100M users is to just show its possible and I guess I like challenges. It’s a total waste of time though.

yeah it’d be more of an attention gimmick, might help to get more users to see your profile IF you also interact massively with users that you already added as close friends. Could see this working really well in connection with story liking if the users are seeing close friends stories.

But then again, you’d have to always have close friends stories up, which would greatly lower the performance of the actual CF stories.

Cool idea tho
