They say this publicly, but it is not true. I got my username and when someone asked me how GitHub had recently released the handle to me, the MODS of /GitHub blocked me lmao.

Getting off-topic, but GLWS @own ! Interesting service for sure!

I’ve seen even employees on Twitter/X saying that they only release them in case of trademark infringements.
