So I’m a total newbie here but I’m thinking about purchasing a new @username - let’s just assume it’s @coolcat or something like that. How do I go about properly switching the name my current account to the new username? I assume it’s something like:
Change the newly purchased @coolcat account to @temporaryusername
Go to personal account and change the name to @coolcat
Would that work? Also, how safe would it be? I don’t want to lose the new username i just purchase to a bot…
I haven’t purchased anything yet so just trying to see if it’s safe enough / worth it to do. Any good username is gonna cost at least a couple hundred bucks so just trying to get expert advice before I go about this. Thank you for any suggestions.
A transfer should be safe unless you’re shooting for a rare username. If so, then you would need to contact someone who can do this for you. Do you have a lot of followers? Wouldn’t it be easier to start from scratch under the new handle?
Thank you for the reply @SWAPD. I was hoping to get a new account with decent followers and also change the name to something more unique. Two parts strategy to this haha. Do you have a recommendation on someone for the name transfer that’s trustworthy? Since they’ll have access to two accounts (one with high following and one with a unique name), Id definitely need someone trustworthy. Thank you.
