Is this a scam?

Hey everyone!
Is this a new scam? Its the third person asking me for the same thing.
What happens if I do it?

@vibrantofficial what do you think?

Hey! Um i don’t know if it’s a scam or not but i suggest you > don’t change anything , if he’s real buyer then he will find out something good for the deal , anyways you should offer him to deal on the swapd and if he disagrees then it’s a totally scam

One more thing , seller is not protected when payment was received via goods and services

  • No tracking number

  • No proofs ( In most cases , PayPal does not consider similar cases involving social networking )

I mean , if i were you , i would offer him to deal on the Swapd ( that’s my opinion )

It’s a scam, run.

But this doesn’t make sense. If you think about it, even with two factor authentication hows that possible?

You aren’t able to link your old email & phone number again ( you will have to link only NEW number & email )

They want to create the random email and then reset the password. Scam.

Lets imagine for a second that I’ve changed the email to some random email and remove the phone number and then send them a screenshot. What can they do? If you think about it they can literally do nothing. Even if they try forgetting password thing in the instagram it’ll be still impossible for them to somehow get into the page

If you remove your phone number (meaning there will be no 2FA), they can create the e-mail, confirm it as a new e-mail on the account and then reset password.

But you don’t understand. Even if I turn off 2FA how can they get access to the page? It still doesn’t make sense. I don’t send them any login info, they only ask of a screenshot that says some random email and no phone number

You are the one who doesn’t understand. They will create the random e-mail (since it’s not taken) and they will reset password of your Instagram account with it (since it’s the current e-mail on your account).

Oh, I see what you mean. But why would anyone do that? I mean if I do that I’d first create that random email and then connect my page to it. Do people even fall for this?

Well, some people don’t know much about these scams so yes, they fall for it. If you created the e-mail, then the scammer would probably say something like “it’s not random email, you own it and you can pull the page and scam me”.

Exactly.

Sad pathetic creatures

Hey dude! I don’t understand why are you still think about that ?! We just told you that it’s a totally scam and if you don’t believe on us , then you can deal with him.

What happens if you remove your number & Edit your email ?!
Well there are a lot of ways of scam

  • he will be able to report you ( He knows Email address , When the number was removed , ETC )

  • he will try to give you his Email address to link on the account

  • he try claim you’ve won something and request a fee to give you the reward

  • he might urge you to use a fake login link to appeal against a terms of service strike on your account. Other emails claim suspicious activity that they’ll ask you to log in and verify

  • he will ask that you give personal info, make a payment, or log into a site in exchange for a prize

1. Phishing scams

Phishers try to get access to your Instagram account by sending you a suspicious link, either as instagram direct message or via email
where you are then tricked into putting in your username and password on a fake login page.

Once the crooks have your login details, they can access your personal information and even change your password to lock you out of your own account , Fake Instagram “warnings”have been widespread recently, like the ones shown below claiming to be official copyright infringement warnings from Instagram itself:

Please follow us and do not enter any random email , if he wants to buy the account then go and offer him deal on SWAPD and if he says NO then block him

Thank us later
