Meta’s Instagram alters your profile settings without your knowledge every time you exit the app. I’ve tested this on many accounts, and the issue is widespread. You can try it yourself: go to your profile settings, change your Content Preferences > Political content > Don’t limit political content from people you don’t follow. Close the app, reopen it, and you’ll see it has reverted to “limit”.
