Notice: CoinPayments is currently experiencing issues (UPDATE: TRC getting restored)

:rotating_light: UPDATE: TRC20 Payments Restored! :rotating_light:

Thanks to our relentless determination, we’ve successfully restored TRC20 payments! Effective immediately, all ongoing transactions will proceed as usual.

What Happened?

:one: CoinPayments started acting up this morning—our settings mysteriously changed overnight, and their system wouldn’t let us update them.
:two: Given the upcoming MiCA directive, which will restrict USDT TRC20 in Europe, we initially suspected CoinPayments had enforced these changes proactively.

Regardless of the cause, the good news is we can continue using TRC20 for a few more weeks—just in time for our Canada rollout. And once we’re live in Canada, TRC20 is here to stay (unless Canada throws us a legal curveball).

Thanks for sticking with us! :rocket:

Old updates:

Notice: CoinPayments is currently experiencing issues.

We are actively reaching out to their support team to identify the cause of the problem. At this time, it appears to be an issue on CoinPayments’ end. We will provide updates in this thread as soon as we have more information.

UPDATE:

For the next 2-3 weeks, USDT TRC20, USDC TRC20, and most forms of USDT (except ERC) will not be accepted on SWAPD.

This change came as a surprise, as CoinPayments assured us this wouldn’t happen until mid-March, but without warning, they blocked our ability to accept TRON-based transactions.

So, for the time being:

  1. All crypto tickets will be updated to USDT ERC.
  2. If you don’t have USDT ERC, you can swap your funds using our crypto swapper: SWAPD
  3. If you are unable to swap, you can change your ticket to bank wire or credit card.
  4. If none of the above options work, you may request to have your ticket closed.

Why is this happening?

This restriction is due to the EU’s ban on USDT TRC20 under the MiCA directive. However, ongoing tickets using USDT TRC20 will still be processed as usual.

What’s next?

  • USDT TRC20 is not disappearing—it will continue to function worldwide, except in Europe.
  • If your online wallet operates in Europe, you will no longer be able to accept USDT TRC20. UNLESS, you use a hardware wallet or an online wallet that is outside of EU laws.
  • Once our company moves to Canada in the next 2-3 weeks, we will resume using USDT TRC20.

Thanks for your patience! :rocket:

What this mean for TRC20 holders will price drop ? Did we need to sell all our trc20 or still hold it normaly

I believe within a few weeks It will be resumed. Tether will definitely find a middle ground or cooperate with MiCA directives.

I talked to our company who exchanges our crypto to FIAT, they’re based in AU and are a big company. They’ve said USDT isn’t going anywhere, but it’s no longer legal to use in Europe. Since CoinPayments is registered there, they have to comply. I don’t think USDT will go anywhere, but then again, who knows. It’s crypto. If you’re worried, convert it.

We plan to restore it once we move to Canada.

We have updated now all our pending tickets with a resolution to this problem. Until we’re in Canada though, you guys will have to use USDC/T ERC, or use bank wire or Credit Cards.
