I see a lot of premium audiences on here, most my accounts are around 8-17% USA. Increasing this would be difficult because the pages are already established so I’m not looking for that, I would just like to learn more about this so that I can get a bigger premium audience when making new pages. I’m aware that this can depend a lot on content but I see a lot of pages with very similar content and the audience is very different. Here are my questions:
Is it possible to restrict certain countries from seeing your posts?
If I started a new page and got it to 10K followers (just an example) with 40% USA with promotions, would the page keep that audience ratio even if I stopped the promotions? (for example 10K, 40% USA with promotions to 100K 40% USA no promotions)
Am I completely wrong about everything and it’s just luck? Surely not right
The reason I have that “theory” for question 2 is because IG uses data to target your posts such as the hashtags you use and the audience that already interacts with your content. This makes sense to me but not everything works like it sounds. Is my “theory” correct?

2. If you stopped and account isn’t growing then yes , you will have still USA audience but there is a risk of losing your followers ( Unfollow )
3. there is no way to restrict countries but you can use hashtags for example ( usa , #NEWYORK#USATIME ETC ) It helps a lot and you will have more chance to get USA followers but don’t think that you are able to keep your USA followers forever , i had an account with top USA followers but a few posts went on for you ( REEL ) and top USA goes 2nd because i got a lot of followers from INDIA
Thank you for your response, I’ve learned that geo restrictions are impossible. However, I think you misunderstood question number 2, I am not referring to unfollows, I’m referring to keeping the ratio of followers while growing. IG seems to use the data from your current audience for the explore page so I assumed if you get it to 40% USA at 10k(promotions) then if it keeps growing organically it will get to 100K 40% USA.
I’ve seen similar happen with other countries, for example if my page was around 10% brazil then it seemed to stay at that even when it grew more. Or when I cross promoted then didn’t cross promote later, the audience was nearly identical.
