For some reason it’s not possible to reset a password on an IG account:
If I try in the app itself, it just does nothing. Does anyknow know how I can reset the password?
Try on any other devices with a new I.p
have connected a Fb Account ? It might helps you

@coehn I had this issue too, it won’t work if you do it through safari or another web browser, what you have to do is when you click the reset button through email it should automatically open the instagram app (so you’ll have to do it on your phone), if it doesn’t automatically open instagram and open browser there should be a button for it to open and continue in the app.
Once it opens the app it should ask for new password and then that should all work.
Hope this helps.
Also make sure the app is upto date and if it still doesn’t work, try deleting and re-installing the app, but I believe the app is the only way to do it now and it won’t work through browser
