Starting April 25, 2025, SWAPD will no longer assist in Instagram (IG) account transfers. All IG transfers will now be conducted directly between buyers and sellers, similar to TikTok and select other platforms on our website.
Why the Change?
As discussed in our related topic, Instagram has heightened its security measures, complicating processes like 2FA removal and quick transfers. When SWAPD intervenes for transfer support, tickets often face delays of 14+ days. After monitoring direct transfers, we’ve observed better outcomes when users handle the process themselves, though challenges remain.
Tips for a Smooth IG Transfer:
To maximize the chances of a successful transfer:
- Sellers: Do NOT change the account password before transferring. This can lock buyers out of password changes for 7 days.
- Sellers: Stay logged in during the transfer and manually approve the buyer’s login.
- 2FA: A 7-day wait for 2FA changes may be unavoidable. We’re still investigating specifics.
SWAPD’s Role in Disputes:
SWAPD will continue to support users in case of disputes. However, with increased risks in direct transfers, we will place greater emphasis on users’ history and trust levels when resolving disputes. We strongly recommend purchasing from reputable vendors with solid track records.
