I think those cheap plans (60 USD per month) are botnets that are capable of knocking down a 3 USD per month HostGator plan or booting some gamer offline. The big boys cost from 100-4000 USD per day for dossing.
This. Beside this there are many 0-day vulnerabilities of Cloudflare that the spammers might be exploiting!
They didn’t have server IP, thank god when I created the site I went directly through CF so there aren’t any records of it (or at least, there shouldn’t). As far as the vulns, I am sure they had some. Our server admins were showing me data that was conflicting with what CF was saying. CF said they’re stopping 100% of the countries I blocked, our server admins said nope.
This seems to be the theme.
Lot of people in here are handing out suggestions as if they want to see SWAPD down.
Knowing that the one who did this attack is 100% seeing this thread and then sharing tips and tricks for the attacker. My God people are weird!

For now the attacks have stopped. Firewall rules will get relaxed just a bit, but for now, no reason to keep this topic opened. Thank you all for your patience through the minimal downtime we had.
