“There is something unusual about your activity” Google Issue

Hello all!
Recently bought a YouTube channel from an individual I know, and am having a weird issue. The seller removed all personal information, including phone number/email, and gave me access. When I logged in, I secured the account, turned on 2fa etc. But, when I go to change any personal info, or log into the YouTube channel it states: “There is something unusual about your activity. For your security, google wants to make sure it’s really you.” It then asks for a code from the sellers phone number, which has since been completely removed from the account. Has anyone had a similar issue or know of any fixes? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we have waited a week and still no progress has been made! Thanks!

Well the account was not purchased on here, I just got it from a friend of mine. We’re just trying to figure out this number issue, and thought some members on here may know of a solution.Thanks though!

It happened to me with a gmail account. What I did was not to change anything for a while & then when I went to change the message vanished. Alternatively put the number back in, get the code & make the changes

Thanks, yea I’m guessing I’m going to have to wait it out. Whenever I get the code from the previous owners phone, it still fails to fix the problem.

when did you log in? sometimes it takes like a week for the number to be completely removed

edit ; nvm just re-read it again. That’s weird.

and how did you change the info’s if you say you get that msg when you try to login?

Have you added Your Phone number ? 2 step verification ?!
If yes Then you have to wait about 7 - 10 days and it will be changed so you will be able to get access and YouTube will send verification code on a New number. If you haven’t updated it yet. you should contact to owner of Phone number and explain him / her about this and he / she might helps you

I only see my number when I go into the account. And it allowed to change some info and add 2fa, but not change the name or any other personal stuff.

Yea I’ve added my number into 2fa and we’re just going to wait out. Looked it up and a lot of people seem to have this issue. Thanks!
