The title of this update pretty much says it all, but if you’re wondering what’s going on, feel free to continue reading.
Starting today, SWAPD will allow only ONE extension per ticket (up to 30 days).
To some, this change may be confusing. Why not allow users to deal as they wish if they both agree? We’re making these changes because the amount of late tickets on our backend is staggering. Some tickets are ten months late, and sellers still constantly ask for more time. Speaking from experience, when a service ticket is into three or more extensions, the odds of it being completed are super low. This is why we will start force-closing tickets that are 30 days late on the time declared within the terms.
Fair warning to all the buyers. You need to prepare for sellers who will (most likely) raise their estimated time frames. Remember, if you accept (for example) a ticket that’s set for twelve months, we will hold your funds for that amount of time, whether you change your mind or not.
Will each late ticket receive a 30-day extension?
No. The 30-day rule is the absolute max. It’s the buyer and seller who decide how long the extension will last, as long as it doesn’t pass 30 days.
What if both parties agree to wait longer?
SWAPD will refuse to honor such terms and will force-close tickets.
Why is SWAPD making these changes?
For one, we want to improve the buyer experience. If sellers can’t deliver, for whatever reason, there is no reason why they should keep buyers waiting.
What if the buyer is the cause of the delays?
We will review such tickets individually and correct the deadlines as needed.
