TransferWise.com has closed our company account. Important information regarding your payments and ongoing transactions

PayPal and TW dying off swapd limits me massively. Dammit :frowning:

There is stripe and am sure they aren’t as useless as transfewise and PayPal and can do very huge amounts

Virtually any 3rd payment processor we could potentially use will carry the inherited risk of being sacked. I will have to brainstorm about this over the weekend, this industry will always have a dark cloud over it so I am not sure if switching to something else is a smart option. I don’t feel like doing this over again with another payment processor.

For Stripe you always need a card connected for get the payout transfered…I use too since years and never get any issues

Wow, as soon as they approved our payment, they tossed us:

How about giving us access to the records you inept company. Even PayPal when they limit your account they leave access to records. We still need to invoice payments from the beginning of December.

Paypal - doomed

Bitcoin - highly volatile & india don’t have any legal financial Authorization so that converting it to the local currency takes enormous amount of fees & issues during taxation. Hence limited only to 3 digit transactions.

Bank wire - most of the local banks don’t support payments fr abroad easily. Even with the likes of standard chartered gives a forex fees equally or sometimes higher to the amount of paypal.

Which left me only with Transferwise…

How do we even operate from now :broken_heart:

Sell your transfewise for btc or something, there’s always an option

Why not just use bank account for every transaction? If we have money outside the EU or within the EU but in euros, we can alway send it to you via transferwise etc THROUGH US, not to your TW account but use them as middle men to clear the funds directly to your bank account.

Anytime I need to send different currency I just send from my bank account to the recipient making an intermediary TW (to reduce costs etc). The recipient actually doesn’t even need to have a TW account.

Just use bankwire for everything, screw third party. Sellers will comply, if there’s money to be made, they’ll comply.

For now, we will have to do that @dorham. However, TransferWise was cheaper, and almost instant.

Well, it is 0 cost for you to get funds that way, and you can of course always do the payout by transferw… oh ■■■■.

Well, you can just make another account, as long as you don’t have a TW wallet, you’re just using them to deal with the wire intermediation, they’ll take a small cut, and so be it. As of today it costs 38$ to wire 10k$. I mean, cmon.

Not 0. Many factors come into play, whether the wire has been sent as BEN or SHA, the sender’s country, and the bank agreements between the sending bank and our company bank. But yeah, I get it. Bank wire for now, no choice really.

It sucks.
I hope you guys can have it reinstated somehow.

If you think about how much $ volume you have generated for them…not only your own account but all the sellers and buyers TW accounts you somehow helped creating

Me myself I started using TW because of Swapd

And I honestly love it

WHAT?!

TransferWise would not close the account if this was chargebacks or payment risk issues, it is not a payment processor. Payment processors close accounts for that. You can’t fix something unless you’re told what actually went wrong.

‘Reviewing our policies and banking partner agreements’

Well, we had an account on there since 2 years, so many of our sellers have an account on there just because of us? We ought to know those policies and agreements and how out of nowhere we suddenly don’t comply to them anymore? What changed?

TW in my opinion one of the most transparent companies in the virtual payments market but this changes everything. I’m gonna keep an eye on other public forums to see if we can figure out the pattern of this purge, this was a mass flag of some sorts but we need answers.

I am sure @Goofy will get us heard at the top level. I could suggest some other good alternatives, but again dependency is a curse. Until then I think it’s best we stick with the classic wire transfers.

@noobfy is already talking to them on Twitter (or Linkedin).

Apparently, they don’t have to tell us because of rEgUlAtIon. And Mr. Lee, their opsec support, basically told @SMM “well we also closed it because we can.”
