Recently i purchased an instagram account where it was changed back to personal to keep it secure then transferred to me, I’m trying to switch it back into a business account but i keep getting the same error.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hey this is a really common error, I believe you can fix it by creating a Facebook page and linking it in the settings of the page (on Facebook) You may have to also link it on the profile in Instagram.
Hey, i did see that as a fix option but when i link the IG to the facebook page i get : this instagram account is already connected to facebook page. Which is kind of odd because it wasn’t connected to one when i got it (I’m verifying that with the previous owner to make sure)
That’s the thing, i cannot reach linked accounts… not listed within the menu that shows.

Yes, that is why it seemed odd for me 
Disconnected the page he had, and connected it with mine but I’m getting the same error but on a laptop screen now

All you have to do is, turn the page to personal and then make it private,
then link your facebook profile,
the convert page to business account, it will automatically create a random facebook page with ig username as fb page name.

If you still have issues
go to business.facebook.com
there go to business settings, there click instagram accounts and link your ig account. Then in same business ettings go to page and add the dummy facebook page u have already created.
Now go to that facebook page and link instagram in settings
