Upcoming Policy Change: Non-Prepayment Tickets to Be Limited to Diamond Club, MC, and Partners Upon Canada Launch

CLEANING SWAPD - PART 7

As we expand into Canada, we will be implementing changes to our payment policies. Non-prepayment ticket options will no longer be available for Safety Concern, Regular, Premium, and VIP members.

However, Diamond Club, MC, and Partner members will continue to have access to the no-prepayment option.

Why are we doing this?

  1. This is a part of our cleaning up SWAPD campaign, getting rid of problematic users.
  2. No more payment runners.
  3. No more iffy sellers trying their luck and wasting buyers time. If you intend to do so, be prepared to pay our incoming refund fees.

These adjustments are being made to CLEAN THE HOUSE! We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Further details will be provided as we finalize the rollout.

Just to show you the absurdities we see on our side.
Last night we’ve had:

  • 84000 USD in refunds
  • 37000 USD in payouts

@MeG (our finance dept) is slowly going crazy over this. This. Has. To. Stop.

We’re working 3x as much on tickets that fail, and not seeing any revenue for it, and not only that, we get a bunch of buyers who are angry with us and SWAPD in general. IT’S OVER! In 2025, y’all gon learn!

That is a massive PITA for those of us paying via wire

I don’t get how cancelling no prepayment will fix these issues? Wouldn’t you just be extending the average duration of ticket and thus taking longer to have to receive/refund for failed tickets?

You guys gonna send my DC Award? Got a special place for it!

Thank God, we lived to see these days too.

Now we can open the ticket with peace of mind.

Great decision

The problems we have with crappy sellers (who will be responsible for refunds fees now) and payment runners (or starting disputes because they try to find a reason not to pay) far outweighs the problem a select few of you will have.

Do both members have to be DC in order to do a no prepayment ticket or is it just applicable to the buyer?

Prepayments will be available only to buyers who are DC or higher, providing the seller agrees to the noprepayment (he doesn’t have to, no matter the rank)

Is it possible to create a new rank for members that are above $50k and include those in the list of buyers allowed to do no prepayment tickets?

Or possibly use someone’s npt history to determine whether or not they are allowed to do npt (i.e. prior reputable buyers being grandfathered in)?

almost every ticket I had here was a no prepayment ticket that I paid as soon as the service was delivered

it was super convenient to “try out some sellers” on services that weren’t 100% guaranteed and let them work on it for a few weeks without my funds being held and if they got the job done successfully I paid the invoice right away

now I don’t have this peace of mind or privilege anymore just because I’m VIP and not DC yet

imo it would be better to make an exception for VIP members with a good history on no prepayment tickets, maybe also consider how fast they pay after the service is delivered and let them keep using this option or you could just put a cap on how much they can process on no prepayment tickets

at the end of the day it’s still up to the seller to decide if they want to accept no prepayment or not

Yes exactly, for those of us who have a solid history of timely payments on no prepayment tickets, please considering grandfathering us into the new rule the same way most governments do when they raise the smoking age. New users who reach VIP status won’t be able to open NPTs until they reach DC but for those of us who have already become accustomed to dealing with NPTs and have a good track record continue to be allowed to open them.

We had many users with “solid payment history” who ran away without caring. The bottom line is, no-prepayment defeats the entire purpose of an escrow site. We are willing to keep it though but for DC + only, and that may even change down the line.

this will be problematic for some buyers, but this move is great for sellers.
