Username Claim Question

I have a question regarding the purchase of a username. Instead of dm’ing sellers individually, I thought I would make a general post so that answers can be added.

  1. When purchasing a username, either on Swapd or from a user directly, how do I know if the OG email is the OG email? Do you have to trust the seller, or is there a way of checking? For example, if I had a rep, or contact with a rep, would they be able to verify that it is the OG email, or is it a matter of blind trust?

  2. Also, if I were to buy a username tied to an account, and then transfer that username to a new account, in a worst-case scenario can the owner of the original account take back the username from the account I swapped it to, or can they only take back the account they sold to me.

If you get an account with claimed usernames there is a way to check first email
Go to account, profile account and check account history
Sort from oldest to newest

But no way to check before the account has been purchased?

Can the history be edited? E.g. If I were to ask for a screenshot, is there way the history could be manipulated?

You have grace period on swapd to check by yourself

You can always check, but usually the seller creates a new account to claim the username. When they are trusted and they say it’s the OG email, it probably is.

I don’t think this is possible if they don’t own the account & OG anymore. Maybe they could do a account recovery if they really want to trick you.

I’d always recommend you to work with trusted sellers. Also, if you feel like someone is acting sketchy, they probably are sketchy.
