I wouldn’t advise it. You may sneak past the account sign-up stage and even be able to use the basic functions on each app, but there are certain functions (e.g. ordering cards, investing, buying and selling crypto) that require full identity verification, including social security number and ID.

Both apps also impose limits on unverified users and may conduct random identity checks or lock your account if they suspect you’re trying to circumvent their rules.

From Venmo’s website:

We may ask for your SSN to verify your identity if you try to do any of the following:

** Send $300 or more in one week (rolling 7 day period)*
** Transfer $1000 or more to your bank in one week*
** Create a group account*
** Process more than 200 transactions in a calendar year as a sole proprietor with a business profile*

From Cash App’s website:

Cash App lets you send and receive up to $1,000 within any 30-day period. You can increase these limits by verifying your identity using your full name, date of birth, and your SSN.

Aside from everything mentioned above, due to strict legal and regulatory requirements, it’s highly likely that they’ve devised ways to detect proxied connections and prevent unauthorized use. The worst outcome would be for you to sign-up, build a sizable balance, and then have either app lock your account and hold your funds hostage.

If you found this reply helpful, I would kindly ask you to mark it as “Solution.”
