Venmo dispute | Guide me please

Hi guys,
I need to dispute some traction on Venmo but need some assistance:

  1. Can I dispute a transaction sent to a person account? I bought few devices but never received, conversation saved on emails but it was a personal account.

  2. In case I can dispute but the seller has already withdrawn money from their Venmo do I still get a refund?

You can dispute Venmo transactions only if they were marked as “goods and services.” If it was sent to a personal account using “friends & family,” Venmo usually won’t refund. Still, contact Venmo Support with proof (emails, receipts) if fraud is clear, they may investigate, but refunds aren’t guaranteed once funds are withdrawn.

Since you paid a personal Venmo account, you’re not automatically protected. But you should still report it to Venmo with all proof (emails, payment, etc.). If you used a card, dispute the charge with your bank too. Even if the seller withdrew the money, Venmo may investigate and possibly refund.

If the payment was sent to a personal Venmo account (not a business one or through their checkout system), it can be a bit tricky Venmo usually doesn’t offer buyer protection for personal payments.

You can still reach out to Venmo Support and provide the email conversation and transaction details. They’ll review the case and let you know if it qualifies for a dispute or refund, even if the funds have been withdrawn. It’s not guaranteed, but worth trying.

Personal (Friends & Family) payments aren’t covered, but you can still report fraud to Venmo Support.
Even if the seller withdrew the money, Venmo may act if rules were broken, though refunds aren’t guaranteed if it was a personal payment
Report it in the app and share all proof, also contact your bank or card issuer to try disputing the charge.

You can try to dispute the payment through Venmo support, but if it was sent to a personal account (not marked as a purchase), Venmo usually can’t guarantee a refund especially if the seller already withdrew the funds. Still, contact Venmo right away and share all proof (emails, messages, etc.) so they can review the case.
