We are receiving reports from users that one of our members was spreading infected .doc files. The files include DLL’s that drop crypto sniffers/stealers. This was verified by 3rd party malware sites. For more information, click here.
DO NOT OPEN ANY SORT OF FILES SENT TO YOU
Ask users to copy the data directly into a reply. We will further investigate this issue, but it’s wise not to open any files send by any user, ever.
If you recently downloaded something, scan your PC right now. So far, user @daher2531 has been sending files. His account is placed on hold until this is resolved and investigated.
normally only way the .doc malware infects your PC is if you open it in office365 etc and click “enable macros”, sometimes they disguise it with a fake page that says “click here to access” etc
if you opened the doc on a windows machine i’d recommend a clean reset of your OS
I believe macOS malware is transmitted through dmg files (IOS is safe, DMG being on a macbook etc) not doc/pdf etc
i’d also change all your password, move crypto to new wallets and go through all your accounts and logout of the websites to kill the sessions
