I’m looking to buy an og username but I’m not familiar with how the process works.
I’ve read several horror stories on both here and other forums and I’m wondering if there’s a specific guideline one needs to follow when securing an OG handle.
From what I could tell, obtaining the OG email of the account holding the username is essential but what if you were to simply swap out the username? What risk does that carry and how is the seller able to claim it back?
It’s not possible to swap valuable usernames manually as there are people running programs (autoclaimers) which will take the username before you’ll be able to swap it to a new account.
There’s a way to avoid this by using swap services but they still carry some risks.
Thanks for the response, I did not even think of such a thing.
Does that mean when I buy the OG handle, I should just build up the account that it comes with? What can I do to prevent the risk of the account ever being reclaimed again, especially if I intend of verifying it?
