What's your experience in using Reddit to create traffic?

Hey guys,

Looking at different traffic generation strategies to promote some sites. What’s your thoughts on using reddit to build traffic?

Good thing about reddit is if you manage to get something to the front page of the sub, you’d get plenty of good traffic. Most of the visitors won’t be converting and all but good traffic it seems like.

Wanted to promote a video, so got it posted on reddit and it seems like the video is getting some visitors (video: 7 Key Things You Should Know Before Investing In Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies - YouTube )

Haven’t posted or promoted the video anywhere else, so that seems pretty good.

Would really like to hear your ideas. Thank you. Btw, the reddit post is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/n1u5cf/7_things_to_know_before_investing_in_crypto_many/

That’s awesome how did you promote it on there?

Basically asked someone to make a post there and requested some friends to like it, that’s all

I haven’t had much success with Reddit but I know people who have. My account has a pretty low karma. Strangely I also have a pretty high “controversial” karma which means I’m getting quite a few upvotes but an equal amount of down votes. I don’t usually say anything too controversial though. So, I suspect there is a good level of coordination in people playing favorites when it comes to voting on Reddit and anyone I’ve known to have success on Reddit spends quite a bit of time and makes a lot of friends. Or, they had/have high quality unique content that they have shared and it blew up. Reddit introduced live streams recently as well which will probably have a big affect in the future.

Yeah, the karma thing sucks, had to ask someone else to post it because of the same reason

The other thing regarding karma is you can pay for premium and that gets you awards to give away which gives you and your cronies more karma.

Wow, that’s good to know, thank you

Reddit is a good source of traffic if you know which thread you need to paste your link in.
I also noticed lots of sales coming from Reddit users.
Its really a hit or miss sort of thing, finding the right room/channel/thread is difficult. Then obeying their TOS and posting rules are another issue.
But if you can do a nice informative post, and your video link is an exact answer to the posting, then you will see crazy growth. Atleast I saw good growth on my Instagram and on one of the e-Commerce store.

Long time redditor here. Just don’t. Prominent subs will ban you from existence. Reddit is a fine tuned machine and have bloodhounds that will call you out stat.

Reddit loves a good backstory/underdog type of post, it has to be witty. They will call you out if you’re a chill. I have gone front page before and its a hit or miss. No secret formula, reddit is quite temperamental with posts. You can ask the dumbest question and hit front page versus a well thought of one that gets downvoted.

Bringing value to any reddit conversation is key. Karma is king around those woods so be careful where u post.

It’s pretty good but depending on the subreddits you’re targeting, you should expect to play a game of chicken with the subreddit mods.

Yeah, that’s true. Need to be careful when using reddit.

Inching towards the first 1000 views

I used to get traffic from reddit before 2 years, like up-vote from my different accounts and get my post to first page of subreddit. I don’t know if it works still, but you can try. I did it manually and with reddit voter bot also!

Reddit bots won’t work anymore I assume
